The Story … Because Y Knot?

Though the Isely family might now be established on their farm in Northwest Kansas, this hasn’t always been the case.

Prior to first settling in Kansas in 2006, the Isely family spent a limited time living on a 46′ sailing vessel. This gave them grand adventures–sometimes too much adventure and not enough grand–and stories to tell.

It also meant that, when the boat was sold, life couldn’t just simply be average. Of course not. It had to maintain that sense of adventure and, what better way to have adventure than in starting ranching?

Thus, Y Knot Ranch procured the first three Belted Galloways that acted as the cornerstones for the future operation.

We now boast a large herd of Registered Belted Galloway, several dogs, some Quarter horses, and far too many cats and chickens to begin to list them all.
